Baby Survived In A Ghastly Motor Accident where 36 Died

 A baby has survived in a ghastly motor accident that claimed 36 lives along Lagos-Ibadan expressway.
 The accident which occurred on Saturday was caused by two passenger buses which collided and caught fire at a Quarry site at Km 96, on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
According to NAN, the two 18-seater buses had a head-on collision and the buses caught fire and went up in flames immediately.
“All the passengers in the two buses were burnt beyond recognition.
“Only a baby escaped death because the father of the child threw him out through the window of the bus,’’ the witness told the News Agency of Nigeria.
 The Oyo State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Mr Yusuf Salami, confirmed the accident on the telephone.
He, however, said he had yet to be briefed on the casualty figures, but confirmed that the accident involved two 18-seater buses.

UNIUYO gives 2-week ultimatum to herdsmen to quit campus Douglas Ukpong-Udoka The authorities of the University of Uyo (UNIUYO) has given a two-week ultimatum to Fulani herdsmen grazing on the all the campuses of the institution to move out their cattle. The school’s authority claimed the cattle have constituted nuisance to the premises. Vice Chancellor of institution, Prof. Enefiok Essien, gave the ultimatum to the herdsmen at a meeting with the Fulani herdsmen led by their head, Alhaji Farouk Miyetti Allah, in Uyo, on Monday. Prof. Essien, in a statement signed by the Director, Public Relations, Mr. Godfrey Essien, said the meeting was crucial in the interest of peace and unity in the university.
