INVESTIGATED:Navy vs police clash in calabar -inah richard

The  Navy has said an investigation has begun to scrutinize the cause of the clash between the Navy and Police in Calabar.
The Director of Information, Nigerian Navy (NN), Navy Captain Suleman Dahun, said in a telephone interview with NAN
The director said everything would be put in place to ensure there is not repeat of such incident.
The clash between the two security sect was caused by a by a discord between a a group of naval officers and a traffic police around akim traffic point, Calabar, around 5 p.m. on Tuesday.
“By 7:30 p.m., it had escalated into a bloody riot, with suspected naval officers attacking a police divisional headquarters, killing two officers and injuring others after burning the office ablaze
Some Naval officers sustained some injuries in the verge of the fracas...
Reports reaching olodo blog is that no inmate escaped in the course of the action

UNIUYO gives 2-week ultimatum to herdsmen to quit campus Douglas Ukpong-Udoka The authorities of the University of Uyo (UNIUYO) has given a two-week ultimatum to Fulani herdsmen grazing on the all the campuses of the institution to move out their cattle. The school’s authority claimed the cattle have constituted nuisance to the premises. Vice Chancellor of institution, Prof. Enefiok Essien, gave the ultimatum to the herdsmen at a meeting with the Fulani herdsmen led by their head, Alhaji Farouk Miyetti Allah, in Uyo, on Monday. Prof. Essien, in a statement signed by the Director, Public Relations, Mr. Godfrey Essien, said the meeting was crucial in the interest of peace and unity in the university. The ultimatum, according to the statement, began on Friday April and would expire on May 11.
